UNION COUNTY, S.C. -- A man was arrested Saturday morning and charged with the murder in the death of his girlfriend in Union County.
Union County Sheriff David Taylor said 47-year-old Steve Littlejohn shot and killed 36-year-old Catina Ann Beacham at about 1 a.m.
Beacham's two children found their mother's body their home on McClure Street at about 9 a.m., Taylor said.
The children ran to a neighbor's house and called 911. Crews originally thought they were responding to a heart attack, but then realized Beacham had been shot.
Taylor said Littlejohn was arrested about 45 minutes later at a home in Brockman Heights.
Littlejohn is charged with murder and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
According to Taylor, Beacham and Littlejohn had a history of domestic violence.
