HUNTSVILLE, AL -- The murder trial for a Huntsville woman accused of fatally stabbing her live-in boyfriend in July 2007 began Monday and the prosecution expects to wrap up its case today.
Annjeanetta Wilson, 26, is charged with murder in the death of Anthony Moore, who suffered a fatal stab wound to the chest at the couple's apartment at 1505 Sparkman Drive on July 31, 2007.
Prosecutors Leann White and Tim Gann argued the killing was the result of a domestic dispute.
Wilson's attorney Chad Morgan said Wilson did not stab Moore, Moore stabbed himself. Morgan said Wilson plans to testify and will describe what happened.
Madison County president Circuit Judge Karen Hall is hearing the case and is expected to rule this morning on whether a knife found at the scene - and thought to be the knife that killed Moore - can be admitted into evidence.
Morgan argued that the Huntsville Police Department crime scene investigator who labeled and bagged the knife and sent it off for forensic analysis, is no longer with the department and there is no way to know if the knife has been tampered with or mishandled.
Prosecutors argued that another police department witness testified he saw the knife at the scene and photographs of the knife have already been introduced into evidence.
The case is expected to resume at 9 a.m. in Hall's second floor courtroom.
