Columbus, OH: Columbus man charged with killing family

Columbus, OH - A Columbus woman, her 10 year old daughter and 2 year old son were found stabbed to death in their North Side Columbus apartment shortly before noon on Friday. The father of the 2 year old was also stabbed several times but was found alive.

Tia Hendricks, Tahlia Hendricks and Tyron Montgomery were stabbed to death, allegedly by Tyron's father, Caron Montgomery, who has been charged with 3 counts of murder.

Montgomery was taken from the scene to Riverside Methodist Hospital where he was upgraded from critical condition to stable. He has since been taken to the Franklin County Jail, after his arrest Saturday.

Montgomery reportedly has a history of violence and has been involved with Hendricks in an "on again - off again" relationship for several years.

"I'm glad he didn't kill himself," Hendricks' aunt, Anita Hayes, said Saturday. "Dying would have been too easy for him. He needs to live every day through this because we will. Thanksgiving will never be the same for us again."

No reason has been given for this senseless act.
