SANFORD, N.C. — Sanford police arrested a Fayetteville man early Saturday and charged him with first-degree murder in the death of his estranged girlfriend.
Isaac Tyrone Jackson Jr., 33, is accused of shooting Shamekia Lynette Griffin, according to police.
At about 9 p.m. Friday, police were called to Griffin's house, at 1809 Mahogony Court in Sanford, in reference to a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers found the 33-year-old woman unresponsive and suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.
Jackson was placed in the Lee County Jail under no bond. No other information was released.
