A staff report
LILLINGTON - A Harnett County woman is accused of killing her boyfriend Monday at their home near Fuquay-Varina, according to a Sheriff's Office spokesman.
Kelly Elizabeth Rose, 37, of the 400 block of Oakridge Duncan Road, is charged with first-degree murder, Maj. Jeff Huber said Tuesday.
She called 911 about 11:34 p.m. and said that her boyfriend, Steven Neva Cain, 33, was injured in an accident, Huber said.
When an ambulance arrived, Cain was dead, according to Huber.
Cain was apparently stabbed in the chest and leg, Huber said.
The Sheriff's Office has been called to the residence numerous times because of domestic disputes, Huber said.
Rose is being held without bail in the Harnett County Detention Center.

I went to High School with Kelly. She was sweet, funny, laid back and likeable. She was not one to start trouble with anyone. I knew from some things she told me then that she had abusive boyfriends at an early age and if I had to guess, I would bet that this was a case of a nice person being abused and pushed too far. My heart goes out to her.
