Los Angeles County coroner’s officials on Monday identified a man and woman who died in an apparent murder-suicide outside a fast-food restaurant in Downey.
The woman was identified as Blanca Celina Gonzalez Ceja, 35, and the man as Daniel Dubon, 38, both of Lynwood.
Downey police responded to a report of someone possibly drunk or injured in the parking lot behind El Pollo Loco in the 14300 block of Lakewood Boulevard about 11:45 p.m. Sunday, a department spokesman said.
Officers found the woman dead inside a red pickup and the man dead outside the truck. Both had gunshot wounds and there was a handgun on the ground next to the man.
There were no witnesses to the shooting, police said.

A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
