DAVENPORT, Iowa — A Quad City man who spent more than two decades behind bars for murdering his wife died over the weekend.
James Klindt died Saturday following a bad fall. Paramedics transported him to Genesis West where he was pronounced dead. He was 62 years old.
Klindt served 20 years in prison for the March 1983 disappearance and murder of his wife Joyce. He was charged a year later in her death; he was accused of cutting up his wife's body with a chainsaw and dumping her remains into the Mississippi River. He was convicted at a second trial after the first resulted in a hung jury and was sentenced to 50 years in prison. He was released in 2004 and went on to operate a taco stand in Davenport
