Denver, CO: Police: Man, boy dead in apparent murder-suicide

DENVER - Denver Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide, after a man and a boy were found dead inside a home's garage Tuesday afternoon.

Both bodies were found with gunshot wounds, according to Denver Police.

911 dispatchers received a call shortly after 4 p.m. about a suicidal man on Bryant Street near West 2nd Avenue.

While Denver Police have not officially identified the deceased, a family member told 9NEWS on Tuesday night that they are Damion Morine, 40, and his 7-year-old son Toby.

"It's a very tragic situation," Denver Police spokesman Sonny Jackson said.

Debbie Vigel, a neighbor and family friend, says Morine divorced the boy's mother about two years ago, and wanted to get back together with his ex.

"We were all very friendly to each other," Vigel said. "I saw him Saturday outside and he said, 'Hi.'"

Vigel says the boy was a bright spot on the block.

"He was a good kid. He had been over to the house a couple of times with his mom," she said.
