The deaths of a husband and wife who were found shot in their home on Saturday have been ruled a murder-suicide by the El Paso County Coroner’s Office.

According to the office, 64-year-old Bonnie Lynn Bryan was killed by a gunshot wound and her death was ruled a homicide. Her husband, 69-year-old James David Bryan Sr., also died of a gunshot wound and his death was ruled to be a suicide.

According to Colorado Springs Police, the couple was found dead in their Broadmoor-area home Saturday afternoon.

Two relatives, worried about their safety, had broken into the back door of the house on Saturday and found their bodies in the master bedroom of the home at 20 Highland St.

A handgun was found between the bodies, according to police.

The couple was supposed to move out of their home on Saturday, according to their landlord.
