Chisholm, MN: Musburger gets 40 years for bar shooting

A Chisholm man has been sentenced to 40½ years in prison for killing one man and injuring two others in front of his ex-wife.

Forty-nine-year-old Jason M. Musburger appeared Thursday before Judge Mark M. Starr.
Prosecutors say Musburger walked into Jim's Sports Bar & Grill in Chisholm with two fully-loaded handguns in March 2010 and shot three men seated at a table with his ex-wife. Edward Walberg was killed. Cale Nelson and Larry Elj were injured.

Several of Walberg's relatives asked Starr to impose a life sentence.

Musburger told the court he never intended to hurt anyone and that he had gone to the bar to commit suicide. He apologized to the victims, their families and the community.
With good behavior, Musberger could be released when he's about 74.
