Dr. Jacquelyn Kotarac Found Dead After Trying to Break into William Moodie's House
Dr Jacquelyn Kotarac was found dead in the chimney of a house occupied by her sometime-boyfriend William Moodie. Kotarac had tried to break into the house while she and Moodie were fighting. Unbeknownst to her, Moodie had slipped out of the house and spent the night with a friend.
Jacquelyn Kotarac broke the protective cap off of the chimney and slid down feet-first, not realizing that the chimney shaft tapered to a width of just four inches. An autopsy concluded that Kotarac died of mechanical asphyxiation, as her lungs were unable to expand in order to properly breathe.
A friend of Moodie's stopped by the house to feed Moodie's fish and noticed a strange smell, which is how Kotarac's body was found.
Jacquelyn Kotarac was reported missing on August 26 when she did not show up at her Bakersfield, California practice. William Moodie said, "She made an unbelievable error in judgment and nobody understands why, and unfortunately she's passed away."
