OMAHA (KPTM)- Emotions ran high at the Douglas County Court House today when a cold case was brought one step closer to an end.

Four years ago, 40-year old Pasinetta Prince was found strangled inside her basement on 41 and Lake Streets.

From the beginning, 46-year old Patrick Bauldwin was considered a suspect.

Today, a jury found Bauldwin guilty of second degree murder in the death of his former girlfriend.

"He made the bed, and he sure lied in it," said Prince's brother, Anthony Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald said he believes justice has been served, and that Bauldwin got the sentencing he deserved.

Prince's mother, Beverly Frazier, said her family will never completely heal from the loss of her daughter.

"She was our family. We'll never have complete closure. We love her," she said. "And we miss her."

Prince's family describes today, which marks the end of a two-week long trial, as a lengthy wait.

"My heart is beating. My mind is racing," said Frazier. "It's been a long wait, but as I said in the beginning, ‘God is good.'"

Frazier said her family found strength through prayer and knowing that today's verdict would eventually be found.

Bauldwin faces 20 years to life in prison. His sentencing date is scheduled for next month.
