SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. – A mom, dad, and two kids were all shot in the head inside their East Valley home.
Investigators are on the scene of what they are calling a murder suicide in San Tan Valley and they are trying to figure out who is responsible.
The mother is in the hospital but her husband is dead and two kids are also dead.
Extended family members had reportedly been calling the family all day and had not spoken to any of them. They got worried and went over to the house.
Inside the home Investigators found a 45-year old man, his 37-year-old wife, their 10-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter had all been shot in the head.
The mother and father were found in the front of the house while their two children were in another area.
Tim Gaffney says, "When our deputies went in, they have kids, and to see the children in that condition was traumatic to our deputies."
The scene was traumatic for the whole neighborhood that was stunned by the news of the multiple murder-suicide.
Jason Phillips, a neighbor, says, “I'm hoping the 8-year-old is not in my son's class…don’t know how to explain it to him."
Investigators say they cannot explain it either. They will not say or do not know which member of the family shot the others before shooting him or herself.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
