A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of killing his estranged wife's child and mother in Sparks.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reports Justin Ouimet was booked on two counts of murder, attempted burglary, assault and arson.
Police responded to an I Street home Friday afternoon on a report of a stabbing and a small fire inside.
Investigators say Ouimet's estranged wife returned home from work and found the bodies of her 2-year-old child, Connor Lawrence, and 62-year-old mother, Lana Stone.
Police say it appears they suffered wounds from an edged instrument.
Crews quickly put out the fire.
Police say Oiumet confessed to the homicides after being taken to the police department.
