A Westminster couple who died in a murder-suicide in early September were identified today as Linda and Ernest Tapia by Adams County Coroner James Hibbard.
Hibbard said the shooting took place in Westminster on Sept. 1 in the 2400 block of West 82nd Place.
Linda Tapia, 62, was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head and died the next day.
Tapia's husband, Ernest Tapia, 63, died at the scene of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, said Hibbard.
Westminster Police spokeswoman Cheri Spottke said that Westminster police concluded that the deaths were a murder suicide and are not looking for any suspects. Spottke said the case is closed.

A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
