According to Phoenix police Sgt. Tommy Thompson, the man said he had killed his girlfriend and led the officers to their home near Bethany Home Road and 12th Street.
Thompson said the officers entered the home and found Jacqueline Rae Dodge's body.
Detectives learned that Cardenes Morffah got into a physical altercation with Dodge, 38, and killed her.
Cardenes Morffah has been booked into the Maricopa County Jail, charged with one count of second-degree murder.
The investigation is ongoing.

The KILLER was a controlling, abusive and intimidating monster. They worked out a LA FITNESS @ 20th street and Camelback. Before Jackie became involved with this creep, she was sweet, friendly and happy. SHe was married to a nice guy, and had 3 kids. After this UGLY FREAK came into her life, she became timid, always looked down, followed the freak around the gym, and talked to nobody. It was clear she was an abused and frightened woman.
