FREDERICK, Md. (AP) - A jury in Frederick has convicted a 66-year-old man of first-degree murder in the shooting death of his estranged wife.
The jury delivered its verdict against Marshall Metz Sr. Wednesday, the second day of deliberations.
Metz was convicted of killing 60-year-old Ann Sue Metz last September with two shots to the chest from separate guns at the home they once shared.
Witnesses testified she had moved out about a month earlier but returned to feed her collection of 17 box turtles.
The defense maintained that Ms. Metz pulled the guns on her husband and that the firearms went off as he struggled with her in self-defense.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
