A man and woman found fatally shot in a Thornton apartment have been identified.
Autopsies performed by the Adams County coroner's office indicate that the pair died in a murder-suicide. The bodies were found about 11:30 p.m. Monday at the Hawthorne Apartments, 11801 York St.
Keri Gillen, 39, of Thornton, died of a single gunshot wound to the head, the coroner's office said. The autopsy revealed that her wound was inflicted by another. The body of Matthew Crayne, 31, of Northglenn, was found in the same apartment. He died of a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
