Kentucky State Police have officially released the name of a woman killed over the weekend in Anderson County in a suspected domestic violence incident.
Police say the medical examiner has identified Frances Renee Mobley, 33, as the victim in the incident, which happened Saturday afternoon at a home on Bardstown Road. Police have charged Gary Bancroft with murder in Moberly's death.
Mobley's father, Benny Mobley, told LEX 18 that his daughter and Bancroft had been in an abusive relationship. He said several months ago that Bancroft had allegedly thrown a knife at his daughter but missed, instead hitting a wall.
Benny Mobley says his daughter leaves behind two children, a 16-year-old and a 7-year-old.
Bancroft is being held in the Franklin County Detention Center. His bond is set at $500,000.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
