TYLER — Police have arrested a man in the fatal shooting of his 71-year-old wife in their East Texas home.
Tyler police said they took Bobby Nichols custody on Saturday.
The 75-year-old is being held in the Smith County Jail on a $750,000 bail. An attorney for him was not listed in electronic records.
Tyler police spokesman Matthew Smyser said a man who identified himself as Dr. Bobby Nichols called 911 Friday night and said someone had been shot.
When officers arrived at the house they found Nichols and a dead woman who was later identified as Rosiland Nichols.
A motive for the shooting was not released. Police continue to investigate.
