Milwaukee, WI: Man charged in stabbing death of Greenfield mother

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office has charged a man believed to be the live-in boyfriend of a mother who was stabbed to death on Saturday.

38-year-old Christopher Gish, who is said to be Maggie Litwicki's live-in boyfriend and the father of two of her three young children, was charged with first-degree intentional homicide and faces a sentence of up to life in prison if he is convicted.

Police arrested Gish near the Wisconsin Air National Guard 128th Air Refueling Wing base at Mitchell International Airport after he allegedly made alarming statements to police about Maggie Litwicki while getting medical treatment from a car accident early Saturday morning in Oak Creek.

The criminal complaint says that, "(Gish said) 'I never wanted to kill her' " but "lost count how many times he stabbed Ms. Litwicki... At one point during the interview the defendant stated, 'You know what, I don't feel bad that I did it.' "

According the complaint, he additionally "kicked her in the face and said, 'I hope it was worth it, (expletive).'"

According to the criminal complaint, authorities found her stabbed to death on her bedroom floor next to her bead.

Litwicki's two sons, ages six and eight, were home the night of the stabbing, but police told TODAY'S TMJ4 the kids didn't see anything.

Meanwhile, friends and neighbors are mourning Litwicki's death, waiting to find out why it happened.

"It's very tragic, I knew Maggie personally," said 1st District Alderwoman Linda Lubotsky. "I helped her with some issues here in the city. She leaves behind three beautiful children."

For anyone wanting to help Litwicki's children and family, they can make donations to:

The fund is being used to pay for funeral expenses and help care for the children.
