Sheriff’s investigators looking into the deaths of two people found inside a Hesperia home Tuesday, July 10, have determined that the two died as a result of murder-suicide.
The bodies of Mihaly Soos, 67, and Cleother Turner Pitts, 71, were found just after 7:30 p.m. on the floor of the home in the 9200 block of C Avenue, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
Deputies had gone to the house at the request of relatives, who had called and visited the home and gotten no response.
The deputies saw the bodies lying on the floor and forced entry into the home, the department said. Both had suffered gunshot wounds and were dead at the scene.
The results of autopsies conducted Friday, July 13, and evidence found at the scene led investigators to determine that Soos had shot Pitts and then turned the gun on himself, the department said.
Anyone with information about the deaths is asked to call sheriff’s Detective David Johnson at 909-387-3589 or, to remain anonymous, the We Tip hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME.
