Jacksonville, FL: Arrest made in woman's stabbing, strangulation in Jacksonville home

Jacksonville police announced the arrest in the May 30 stabbing and strangulation of a 51-year-old woman in the 2300 block of Fourth Avenue.

Dennis Thurnado Glover, 48, lived two doors from Sandra Jean Allen and was in an intimate relationship her, homicide Lt. Rob Schoonover said. Tuesday he was charged with her murder.

Glover reported finding her dead inside her mobile home. Neighbors heard arguing and someone screaming, the Times-Union was told at the scene.

DNA evidence from a blood drop on a shoe belonging to Glover led to the arrest, Schoonover said.

Allen was stabbed several times in the neck. Glover told police he had seen someone leaving the scene.

Glover's girlfriend, who lived with him, said he had left their residence earlier that morning, and a witness described seeing a man matching his description at the house.
