Alice, TX: Alice Police Officer Arrested in Connection with the Shooting Death of his Estranged Common Law Wife
Alice (Kiii News) - Alice police officer Joey Gonzalez is in custody in Alice. Witnesses say Gonzalez walked into his estranged common law wife's relatives mobile home in Annaville and shot Leslie Morin in the head. She died from the wound. According to sources he then took his 8 year old son from the trailer home and fled to his residence in Alice on Washington Street. Law enforcement surrounded the home. Two schools in Alice, Schallert Elementary and Dubose Intermediate were on lock down for a good part of the morning. Gonzalez gave up without incident. Kiii News has spoken to a number of witnesses and law enforcement officials in Corpus Christi and Alice.
