A city spokeswoman has confirmed that the deaths of a married couple in a North Suffolk residence on Tuesday were a murder-suicide.
Police say that Kathryn Laine, who was found dead by her 16-year-old son in the Bennett’s Creek Landing home, died of stab wounds inflicted by her husband, Steven Laine.
His cause of death was determined to be suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning.
Debbie George, the city spokeswoman, wouldn’t say how many stab wounds Laine suffered. The woman was found on a bathroom floor, she said.
The teenager called 911 about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday saying that his mother was injured. Emergency responders found the 47-year-old woman dead in the bathroom and her 50-year-old husband deceased in the garage.
