ANTIOCH, Calif. — Detectives in Antioch are investigating the homicide of a woman found dead in a local motel room Friday morning.
Police responded to a medical call just before 8 a.m. in a room at the Riverview Motel at 3120 E. 18th St. and determined that the woman, a 52-year-old Martinez resident, appeared to have died from blunt force injuries.
Antioch police Lt. Diane Aguinaga said the woman's estranged boyfriend was also in the motel room when officers arrived and that the room appeared to be in disarray, possibly due to a violent struggle.
Detectives are questioning the man and witnesses at the motel, but had made no arrests as of this afternoon, police said.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Antioch police Detective James Stenger at (925) 779-6894.
