A mother and daughter were arrested Monday in the shooting death of the younger woman’s boyfriend who was living at the women’s Dallas home.
But investigators said Tuesday they are not yet ready to release a motive for the killing.
Mr. Lennis Donovan Jones, 44, was shot in the head on May 30 in the home at 28 Fenwick Court, Paulding County Sheriff’s spokesman Mr. Ashley Henson said.
Investigators issued arrest warrants Friday, charging Ms. Elgerie Mary Cash, 45, and Ms. Jennifer Weathington, 20, with felony murder, Mr. Henson said.
Mr. Henson said it took so long to make the arrests because investigators were ironing out the evidence and the statements from witnesses and the suspects.
Mr. Jones, who is a longtime friend of the mother, was staying with the women when he was killed.
It’s unclear how long he had been staying at the home or how long he had been in a relationship with the daughter before he was shot to death.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
