Gargatha, VA: 5 Va. dead identified

GARGATHA -- Five people found dead last week in a trailer in Gargatha were shot, according to information released by Accomack County Sheriff Todd Godwin.

Officials on Monday identified the five dead in what appears to have been a murder-suicide -- including two women, two children and one man.

The victims were Zayday Reyes, 20, Evelyn Colon-Matias, 27, Jesus Angel Quintero-Colon, 10, and Ana Estefani Quintero-Colon, 9.

Evelyn Colon-Matias was the mother of the two children, and Quintero-Gonzales was their father.

Quintero-Gonzales was involved in a custody dispute with the children's mother, according to police.

five bodies were found by a deputy responding to an emergency call at 5:10 p.m. Thursday on a possible suicide.

Virginia State Police is assisting the Sheriff's Office in the investigation, which is ongoing.
