(12-14) 16:16 PST SAN FRANCISCO -- Prosecutors are still deciding whether to file murder charges against a San Francisco man found in his home with his wife, who had been strangled, authorities said.
Ying Hua Wu, 74, is in police custody at San Francisco General Hospital after stabbing himself in the neck in a confrontation Friday night with officers at his home on the 200 block of Justin Drive in Bernal Heights, authorities said.
Police and firefighters found his wife, 72-year-old Hao Mei Wu, unconscious and not breathing when they arrived at the home at 10:30 p.m. She was pronounced dead at San Francisco General Hospital.
"We're still gathering all the information in order to make an informed decision with respect to how, if at all, to charge this case," said Omid Talai, a spokesman for the district attorney's office.
