Police say the deaths of a man and a woman in a Cumru Township apartment were a murder/suicide.
Edward Arrivello Jr. and Karen Wanner, both 54, were found dead by township police and state troopers from Hamburg at 107 G Colonial Drive at about 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 28, according to a press release from township police.
The apartment was where Arrivello lived. Wanner of the 400 block of Stone Hill Road, Shoemakersville, previously lived there with him, police said.

“Troopers and officers entered the apartment to perform a welfare check on Karen Wanner. The troopers and officers discovered the bodies of Wanner and Arrivello in the bedroom at the rear of the apartment,” police said in a press release.
The residence was secured as a crime scene and investigators were brought inside.
Police called the Berks County Coroner’s Office to come to the scene.
Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police’s Crime Scene Unit assisted township police with the investigation.
In addition to township police, the Pennsylvania State Police Forensics Unit, the Berks County Coroner’s Office and Forensic Pathologist Dr. Neil Hoffman worked on the investigation of the deaths.
