The Tomball Police Department and Fire Marshal announced Wednesday that
they believe this weekend's fire in the Spring Creek Estates subdivision was a murder-suicide.
Investigators say they've found a second body in the wreckage of the house
at 29503 Orchard Grove Drive, which belongs to husband and wife Darren and
Shirley Hockenberry. Both are still unaccounted for. Neither set of remains
found in the home as been identified.
After surveying the evidence and finding the first body Tuesday morning,
investigators already were treating the fire as an arson. They have
confirmed that initial suspicion.
"While autopsy results are still pending, it is apparent that the deaths and
fire were a result of a murder-suicide," the City of Tomball said in a
press release.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
