Woman Accused Of Killing Police Officer Husband Due In Court
The Taylor County widow accused of killing her police officer husband is scheduled to make a court appearance Tuesday afternoon.
Tonya Ford is charged with murder in the 2009 shooting death of Lebanon police officer David Ford. Police say he was found shot to death at the couple's Graham Road home in Campbellsville. Investigators say Tonya Ford called 9-1-1 that day and said she had arrived home and found him dead.
Tonya Ford was indicted for the murder back in October.
Lawyers on both sides will be handing over evidence in court Tuesday as they prepare for the murder trial, which is set to begin in May.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
