NORTH CHARLESTON, SC - A relative said her stepfather and his girlfriend were murdered New Year's Eve after an argument about gas money.
Rick Morocco Williams, 25, was arrested at a residence in North Charleston Tuesday night without incident. Williams was denied bond Tuesday afternoon.
Investigators were called shortly after 1 p.m. Monday in reference to two suspicious deaths at 2110 Durant Avenue. A neighbor had gone to check on the residents and found the bodies of a man and a woman.
Charleston County Coroner Rae Wooten named the deceased as 44-year-old Angela Ferguson and 58-year-old Nathaniel Lonnie. Autopsy results show that both died of a single gunshot wound to the head.
Investigators say Williams and his girlfriend, who is related to one of the victims, were staying at the apartment.
After Wednesday's bond hearing, Lonnie's stepdaughter said Williams busted the windows out of Lonnie's van before the murders.
"Before the cops even arrested Ricky I had already known that he did this because he busted out his windows over $6 of gas," Doris McCollin said.
Police said there was an argument, but they are not saying what the argument was about.
Williams was convicted of criminal domestic violence and third degree burglary in March 2009. He was sentenced to two years probation. In August 2009, he was sentenced to four months in prison and two years probation after being convicted of burglary. He was also sentenced to probation in October 2007 for a drug conviction.
