BILOXI -- Police called to break up a fight on James Buchanan Drive shortly after 7 a.m. New Year’s Day found a 53-year-old man in the yard with a stab wound in his chest.
Tommy Leroy McGee was pronounced dead at Biloxi Regional less than an hour later.
By Saturday afternoon, police had arrested McGee’s girlfriend, Quisha Rena Larkin, 26, of Biloxi, and charged her with murder, investigators said.

McGee and Larkin have a child together, Sgt. Tim McKaig said.
Larkin’s bond was set at $1 million by Judge Albert Fountain. She was taken to Harrison County Adult Detention Center to wait for a court appearance.
McGee had been found on the ground near the front door of the rental home, Corner Gary Hargrove said.
An autopsy performed later in the day confirmed the stab wound as the cause of death, he said.
McGee did not live at the home, but was known to stay there from time to time, McKaig said
Several adults and children who had been sleeping were removed from the home Saturday morning, McKaig said, to allow investigators to examine the scene. Police on Saturday covered the crime scene with clear plastic tarp to protect it from the day’s intermittent showers.
Remnants of exploded fireworks littered the ground, McKaig said.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
