LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB Fox 41) -- They're asking all around Frankfort, Kentucky. Who would want to kill Tomma Graves? Marty Perry works next door to the crime scene, where her body was found Monday morning.
He tells Fox 41, "Incidents like this that have happened to my knowledge, haven't been directed at people randomly, it's people who have disputes with each other it seem like."
As a victim's advocate, Graves worked closely with victim's of domestic violence, she was director of the crime victim's assistance program, and dealt with some horrible crimes on a daily basis.
Her body was found inside a pick-up truck in the parking lot of a funeral home. She had been shot.
Frankfort Police Major Fred Deaton tells Fox 41, "The family members had missed her and sometime Sunday evening had reported her missing, and at that time they had told the officers they had last seen her around eight Saturday morning."
Graves worked closely with Franklin County Attorney Rick Sparks. She was assigned to the fiscal court.
Sparks tells Fox 41, "I have no idea what this has to do with, I know this, Tomma Graves is respected in this community, respected by law enforcement and members of the bar and the court. We all knew the job she did, we all knew how valuable she was, we never heard anybody say a bad thing about her. One way or another, it's unbelievable."
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
