MACON, Ga. (AP) - A 28-year-old Macon man will spend life in prison for his role in the December 2008 murder of his pregnant mistress.
A Bibb County jury found Melvin Washington Jr. guilty of murder in the death of 24-year-old Tanisha Hardman. He also was convicted of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Prosecutor Elizabeth Bobbitt says he won't be eligible for parole for 30 years.
A man rummaging through trash found Hardman's body. Police said it appeared Hardman died of a gunshot to the head.
