A man who reportedly stabbed a Spring Valley woman to death was found dead, an apparent suicide, in Presidio Park, San Diego police said today.
Krisanto Jopanda, 33, was found near his car at about 9 p.m. Friday by San Diego police.
Jopanda was the suspect in the murder of Avitha Chua Rafael, 28, who was found stabbed to death in the driveway of her Spring Valley home Friday.
Deputies said Friday that when they pulled up to the scene, Rafael’s 10-year-old son was standing next to his mother’s body. Jopanda is reportedly the boy’s father.
The slaying in the 10000 block of Celestial Waters Drive in Spring Valley was reported shortly before 7:30 a.m. Friday, deputies said.
