A January trial date has been set for a central Kentucky man charged with shooting his wife in the chest and killing her.
The Richmond Register reports that Judge William C. Clouse Clouse set the Jan. 18 in the case of 45-year-old Hugh Phillip Skidmore III.
Skidmore is accused of shooting and killing his wife, Kimberly, at their Berea home on Aug. 24, 2009.
Prosecutors say Skidmore shot his wife in the chest with a .45-caliber handgun. He placed a call to 911 which brought officers, and emergency responders to the scene after the shooting.
Skidmore has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
