A Chicago man was charged Sunday with strangling a woman in his Rogers Park apartment.
Police say William Caponegri strangled Karen Salvino early Sunday at his apartment in the 6700 block of North Glenwood Avenue.
Caponegri, 49, was charged Sunday evening with first-degree murder and with violating an order of protection that Salvino had against him, police said.
