Thornton, CO: Man Arrested Suspected In Fire, Wife's Death

Dominic Garcia THORNTON, Colo. (CBS4/AP) ―

Colorado Mug Shots Thornton police say a woman found dead in a house fire had been shot multiple times and her husband is a suspect in the case.

Thornton police spokesman Matt Barnes says firefighters found the body of 30-year-old Belinda Fisher after extinguishing the fire Saturday evening. Authorities say the fire appears suspicious but have not determined how it started.

Barnes says Fisher had been shot but it's not yet known how she died.

Barnes says police arrested Fisher's husband and he is being held without bond at the Adams County jail. Charles David Fisher III, 29, is being investigated for possible charges of first-degree murder, first-degree arson and domestic violence.

Neighbors are shocked about the death.

"It's pretty scary having that that close to my house and the neighborhood, I wouldn't expect something like that," a neighbor said.

"It's a little bit unusual. This is a real quiet neighborhood, not much activity going on, so you wouldn't expect something like that," another neighbor said.

So far police don't have a motive for the murder.
