Mesquite, TX: Two found dead in Mesquite home

by CYNTHIA VEGA

MESQUITE - Police said the case of a man and woman found dead in their Mesquite home early Monday morning was likely a murder-suicide.

Neighbors said they haven't seen any sign of the couple, who lived in the 2600 block of Bandera Place, since last Thursday. The 52-year-old man and 46-year-old woman were discovered dead after family members called police shortly after midnight.
Authorities said there were no signs of forced entry.

Neighbors said the couple lived at the home with two children for at least five years. Within the last couple of weeks, the couple could be heard arguing from within their home, one neighbor said.
"Sometimes, there was arguing and stuff like that," said Constance Barnett, a neighbor. "... I heard it; it was in the middle of the night and I would be out letting my dog out."
Police said there are no records of previous visits or domestic calls to the home. The two children were not staying at the home overnight. A 15-year-old son is reportedly at a church camp and a seven-year-old daughter is staying with a family member.
Authorities have not released the name of the couple as they continue to contact relatives.
