Police say a man fatally beat his son and the boy's mother in their Long Island apartment before killing himself by jumping in front of a LIRR train.
Suffolk County police say 42-year-old Scott Maxwell was killed by a Long Island Rail Road train Wednesday morning. The tracks run near his house.
They say officers who went to his East Northport home found the bodies of 47-year-old Ann Pabo and 13-year-old Connele Pabo.
Police said the apartment had a history of calls. However, they characterized them as harassment rather than violence.
They said Ann Pabo had been granted an order of protection against Maxwell. The couple was not married.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
