KING GEORGE — A Stafford County man has been sentenced to four months in jail on charges stemming from the accidental shooting of his fiance during a hunt club outing.
Authorities say Forrest David Matthews Jr., 29, accidentally shot and killed Carrie Lee Loving, 27, on Dec. 12. Matthews and Loving were among about 40 hunters who participated in the event on private property off State Route 218 in King George County.
Matthews was sentenced Thursday in King George Circuit Court to a total 24 months in jail, with 20 months suspended. He had pleaded guilty earlier to assault and battery and reckless handling of a firearm.

(NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
