OLIVE BRANCH, MS – Police in Olive Branch are investigating what police believe is an attempted murder suicide.
It happened at Williams-Sonoma warehouse around 4:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 29, 2010.
According to the DeSoto County coroner 47-year-old Johnny Bell died at the scene. Bell’s wife, 47-year-old Connie Bell was taken to The MED in extremely critical condition.
Investigators believe Johnny went to his wife’s job sometime around shift change and approached her in the parking lot. Police say that after some sort of altercation, they believe Johnny pulled a gun, shot his wife and then himself. Investigators are not saying what led to the altercation.
The couple’s cars were towed from the scene after investigators wrapped up the investigation. Eyewitness News was there as the red Dodge pick-up truck and a blue Dodge Neon were removed from the warehouse parking lot.
After the vehicles were removed, a fire truck arrived to wash away blood that had collected at the shooting scene.
Officials at Williams Sonoma haven’t made any statements about the attack at this time. One employee tells Eyewitness News, a new release will be issued at a later date, but at this point the company has no comment.
