RALEIGH -- A 41-year-old Wake County woman was arrested and charged early today with first-degree murder in the death of a man whose body was found concealed in the family home, authorities said.
Wendy Edmond Green is accused of killing 52-year-old David Reuben Green Jr., of 8617 Ray Road in unincorporated Wake County north of Raleigh, the warrant states.
Wake County Sheriff's Office investigators located the body in the home Wednesday. Sheriff Donnie Harrison said this afternoon that the body had been stuffed in a freezer.
The sheriff's office had been investigating a missing person case from this residence since it was filed by family members in September.
Investigators said they believe David Green was killed some time in April at the home.
Green was a "live-in" girlfriend of David Green and assumed his last name during the relationship, the sheriff's office said.
The investigation continues and more arrests are anticipated, the sheriff's office said.
Authorities listed two addresses for Wendy Green, the Ray Road residence, and 11679 Hwy 72 East in Lumberton.
She is being held in the Wake County jail with no bond.
