BESSEMER, Ala. (AP) - A Jefferson County Jury is scheduled to debate the fate of a former male stripper who was convicted of stabbing to death four people in a suburban home after he and his girlfriend split.
The jury is set to return 9 a.m. Monday to decide whether to sentence Scott Lamar Abbott to death after he was convicted Friday of the four killings.
Prosecutors say Abbott killed ex-girlfriend, 27-year-old Jeri Lyn Cole, and three others after she broke up with him.
Defense attorneys argued that Abbott was suffering from mental illness at the time and therefore was not guilty.

(NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
