A Scranton woman who yelled "I hope you all (expletive) die" as she yanked a steering wheel on the Northeast Extension last year, causing an accident that killed her boyfriend and seriously injured her two children, will serve at least a decade behind bars.

Steffanie Ramos, 27, was sentenced today to 10 to 20 years in state prison by Lehigh County Judge Robert L. Steinberg.

"I just had too many things going on at the time and I just snapped," Ramos told the judge. "It was not my intention to kill or harm anyone, but unfortunately my actions did."

In April, Ramos pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Ramos crashed the car around 5:25 p.m. Feb. 7, 2009, at mile marker 63 of the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike while arguing with her boyfriend, Rene Andres Amaya, according to Chief Deputy District Attorney V. Paul Bernardino III.
