NORMAN, Okla. -- Friday police will continue to investigate an apparent kidnapping and murder-suicide.
Thursday police found a woman and a man dead in the parking lot of a Best Western in Norman.
A woman reported missing Thursday morning from The Village was found dead in a car in the parking lot of the hotel, located at 2841 Classen Boulevard, early Thursday evening.
"It appears to have the body of a female in the front passenger seat, with the back of the seat laid back," said Norman police Capt. Tom Easley.
Police had found the woman after calling her mobile phone and tracing it to that location in southeast Norman.
Authorities believe the woman had been kidnapped by a man earlier in the day in what may have been a domestic dispute.
SWAT teams were called to the hotel, and negotiators tried to communicate with a man barricaded inside of it. At about 7:15 p.m., officers said they heard a single gunshot, broke into the motel and found the man dead.
Rachel Teener said she and her family were staying in a room just a few doors down.
"Of course, when they said, 'It's time to go,' we went," she said. "(The kids) didn't have shoes on or anything."
She said the whole ordeal was scary.
"I grew up in Norman, and you don't expect that kind of thing to happen around here," she said.
No names in the case have been released.

NORMAN, Okla. --

Police have identified the two people who died in Thursday's fatal shooting in Norman.
Brandon D. Hulin, 24, of Norman, and Jennifer L. Trevino, 38, of The Village, were found dead late Thursday at 2841 Classen Blvd. Police are working to reconstruct the events that culminated in Hulin's standoff with police at the Best Western motel there.
Initial reports from police are that Hulin killed Trevino before killing himself during a standoff with officers.
Trevino had been reported missing Thursday morning from The Village and was later found dead in a car in the parking lot of the motel.
"It appears to have the body of a female in the front passenger seat, with the back of the seat laid back," said Norman police Capt. Tom Easley.
Police found Trevino after calling her mobile phone and tracing it to that location in southeast Norman.
Authorities believe Trevino had been kidnapped by Hulin earlier in the day in what may have been a domestic dispute. Police said the two had been involved in violent fights before and police had been called to their home in 2008.
"We've got some history with this couple," said The Village Deputy Police Chief Steve Jagosh. "I know officers during that specific call talked to her about a (protective order). I don't know where she was in the process of getting one."
SWAT teams were called to the motel, and negotiators tried to communicate with Hulin, who had barricaded himself inside of the motel.. At about 7:15 p.m., officers said they heard a single gunshot, broke into the motel and found the man dead.
Jagosh said on July 7, Trevino said Hulin had broken into her home. He said that when Trevino didn't show up for work on Thursday, police responded immediately.
"When you look at that as being extremely different behavior from her, plus the history we had, we figured there was something wrong," Jagosh said.
He said police didn't immediately put out a missing person's report on Trevino because officers were afraid that Hulin might flee the area.
"Do you want him to run before we investigate to find out where he's at?" he said.
Jagosh said Village police followed procedure.
"This is the worst-case scenario. You don't want somebody missing to turn up deceased," he said.
He said Trevino's black SUV was found at Lake Hefner and there were signs that a struggle had taken place there.
Neighbor Jamie Phipps said she lives two houses down from Trevino's home.
"My natural reaction was to be scared half-to-death," she said. "I have a little child."
