TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Tucson Police say two people were shot this morning in the 2500 block of North Oracle Road.
It happened near Oracle and West Alturus Street just before 11:30 a.m., which is just north of West Grant Road.
Police say the situation has been determined as a murder-suicide. Detectives determined the two victims were married but estranged.
According to police, the man walked up to a woman in a car and opened fire killing the woman. The man then turned the gun on himself.
Maria Carolina Coleman-Velasco, 49, and Julio Cesar Velasco, 59, have been identified as the victims.
Detectives say that Julio waited at Maria's work place for her to arrive. When she pulled near the business he walked over the driver's seat and shot her with a handgun then shot himself.
Police believe the attack was unprovoked. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
