Queens, NY: Queens man charged with stabbing wife to death

A Queens man was charged with murder after he allegedly stabbed his pretty wife to death in her home yesterday, law-enforcement sources said.

The body of 29-year-old Samantha Seelall was found stuffed under her bed with a plastic bag over her head in the house on 117th street in Richmond Hill about 2:30 p.m.

Police charged her husband Ganeesh Seelall, 39, with murder, aggravated criminal contempt, and criminal possession of a weapon, as well as tampering with a weapon, authorities said.

The husband’s brother said Ganeesh called 911, as well as his own father.

The hard-working nurse’s aid supported her husband, who did not work, and their 10-year-old daughter, as well as her 14-year-old stepdaughter, according to a relative and close friend.

The couple lived in a stunning three-story beige-and-green Victorian home, surrounded by a concrete white-columned wall.

The brother, who did not wish to be identified, is now taking care of the kids.

“I wish they didn’t have to go through [this],” he said. “Right now they’re with us. They are holding up. They know what happened.”

Her childhood best friend Alecia Salik, 28, said Seelall grew up in Guyana, and had worked in home care in Manhattan.

“Oh my God, she was such a sweetheart, she was a very hard-working woman,” said Salik, devastated. “She would do anything for anyone. This is so sad.”

The husband led responders to the bedroom after someone called 911 for an ambulance. It was not immediately clear who was home during the slaying.

Seelall was pronounced dead by EMS at the scene.

"I feel so sorry for her daughter," said Salik. "She was Mummy's princess. She was everything to her."

Neighbor Hilda Beltran, 46, was also stunned by the tragedy.

"It's so sad, especially for their two little girls," said Beltran. "It is scary. I don't even want to think about it."
